Limits of Confidentiality:

Every effort is made to ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance from this office! Although it is unlikely, there is a possibility that information you include in an email, text, phone and/or social media post can be intercepted, and/or read by other parties, besides the person to whom it is addressed. Whenever anyone communicates using technology, there is a risk of their personal and private information to be misdirected by phone/fax/email/texts/social media.

Discussion between client and therapist are confidential, and will be released/disclosed only with the client’s written consent, or as required by law. It is customary practice in the mental health and/or medical profession to at times; consult with other professionals; on cases to ensure the highest level of care. All discussions will respect anonymity of clients.

State law mandates that mental health professionals report certain situations to the appropriate person(s) and/or agencies.

Diagnosis: No one can offer you a psychological diagnosis from email, text, phone call, or video. Communication via this website, or through text, email, video, phone call,  or social media on behalf of, or by Kelley Hopkins-Alvarez, LPC, LLC, cannot replace the in-person therapeutic relationship you have with any mental health practitioner.
